Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rumpelstiltskin Dance, available at rumpelstiltskindance.org (the "Service"). The Service is operated by an individual developer ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service does
You upload one photo of yourself, a consenting friend or your pet, and the Service uses a third-party AI video model to generate a short, silent, vertical video of that subject dressed as a fairy-tale imp doing a tiptoe dance. You pick a style, a subject type and an output spec; the prompt is fixed on our side. Outputs are produced automatically by an AI model and vary from run to run.
The Service is inspired by a viral meme. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Riff Raff, the creators of the original clip, or any film studio.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You sign in with a Google account or with an email magic link. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account or Google account secure and for everything that happens under your Rumpelstiltskin Dance account. Give us accurate information and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
One free clip is available per account. To keep the free tier usable for everyone we apply abuse controls: no more than three new free accounts per IP address per day, and accounts created with disposable or temporary email addresses do not receive a free clip. Free clips are rendered at 480p and carry a visible watermark. Creating multiple accounts to obtain extra free clips is a breach of these Terms.
3. Credits and payment
Paid generations are priced in credits. One credit is worth one US cent ($0.01). Credits are sold in one-time packs through Stripe Checkout. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically. Each pack is valid for 365 days from purchase; credits that are unused when a pack expires are forfeited. Credits are not transferable between accounts and cannot be exchanged for cash except as described in the Refund Policy.
The credit cost of each output spec is shown before you start a generation. When a job starts, the credits for it are held from your balance. If the generation completes, the hold becomes a charge. If the generation fails or times out, the hold is released and the credits are returned to your balance automatically. Price changes do not affect credits you have already bought.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Refunds, chargebacks and cancellations are handled under the Refund Policy.
4. Your content
"Your content" means the photos you upload and the videos generated for you. You keep ownership of both, to the extent permitted by law and by the terms of the AI provider that generates the video. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, transmit and display your content solely as needed to operate the Service, including sending your photo to our AI provider to render the clip and hosting the finished clip at a share link.
You are responsible for your content. By uploading a photo you confirm that you took it or have the right to use it, and that every person shown in it has agreed to appear in an AI-generated video. We reject and remove photos that show minors, nudity, celebrities or other public figures, or people who have not given consent. You are also responsible for anything you do with the finished clip elsewhere, including any music or audio you add on other platforms, and for complying with those platforms' rules and any applicable music licensing.
Uploaded photos are deleted from our storage within 24 hours. Generated clips are kept in your dashboard until you delete them. Clips opened through a share link by visitors who are not signed in remain available for 30 days from generation. Deleting a clip from your dashboard disables its share link.
5. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: do not upload photos of people without their consent, do not upload photos of minors or public figures, do not use the Service to harass or deceive, and do not try to bypass our limits or safety checks. We may refuse any upload, remove any clip, and suspend or terminate any account that breaks these rules. Unused credits on an account terminated for abuse may be forfeited.
6. Likeness and takedown requests
If a clip on the Service uses your likeness without your consent, email support@rumpelstiltskindance.org with the clip link and we will remove it. We also honour valid copyright notices. See the Contact page for what to include.
7. Third-party providers
The Service depends on third parties we do not control: fal.ai for AI video generation, Cloudflare for storage and bot protection, Stripe for payments, Resend for sign-in emails and Google for analytics and sign-in. Their outages or changes can affect the Service. AI output is automated and may be inaccurate, distorted, unflattering or otherwise not what you expected. We do not guarantee any particular result, and a result you dislike is not a failed generation for refund purposes.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard; this deletes your clips and account data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, that we reasonably believe are fraudulent, or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service we will give reasonable notice and refund unused credits bought within the previous 365 days.
9. Disclaimer, limitation of liability and indemnity
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you. You agree to indemnify us against claims and reasonable costs arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of a generated clip, including claims by people shown in a photo you uploaded.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will post a notice on the site or email the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence still applies to you. Please contact us first; most issues can be resolved by email. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the courts with jurisdiction over the operator, unless consumer law gives you the right to sue where you live.
